Great news! The Land of Liberty, Peace & Plenty, Watford & District branch's Pub of the Year, is into the finals of CAMRA's National Pub of the Year competition. Judges will now decide whether the Land of Liberty, or three other pubs, is the best in the country. The results are due to be announced on the 15th February. Further details are available from CAMRA's website.

The branch would like to wish Gill, Martin and all the staff at the Land of Liberty the best of luck for the next stage in the competition.

WEDNESDAY 30th MAY

Congratulations to Martin Few and Gill Gibson whose pub, the Land of Liberty, Peace & Plenty in Heronsgate, has been named Hertfordshire CAMRA Pub of the Year for the second year running. Keep checking this site for details of the presentation ceremony, which I'm sure will be accompanied by much drinking and merry-making.

SATURDAY 31st MARCH

Earlier this week the Hertfordshire branches of CAMRA announced the launch of a new online Hertfordshire Pub Database. The database is intended as a guide to all pubs in Hertfordshire, with special focus on those pubs selling Real Ale. The guide provides details for each Real Ale pub, including opening hours, hours food is served, pub facilities and such useful features as postcode links to Multimap. The database is a work in progress and some pubs have not received full write-ups yet, so you'll have to bear with our volunteers as they do their rounds. The database can be accessed by visiting www.pubs.hertsale.org.uk or by visiting the links page on this site.
